Movement restored, not just bones fixed

Joint pain, back trouble or a bone injury can quietly take over daily life, making even simple things like walking, sitting or sleeping difficult. Our orthopaedics and spine department offers comprehensive orthopaedic treatment in India — from diagnosis and physiotherapy to complex reconstructive surgery and long-term rehabilitation. Our orthopaedic surgeons, spine specialists and physiotherapists guide you through every step with honesty, without unnecessary tests or delays.

From joint replacements and spine surgeries to trauma care and deformity correction, we bring together some of the best orthopaedic surgeons in India, modern operation theatres and dedicated rehabilitation units in one building — so patients don't have to run between different hospitals for different parts of their treatment.

Our international patient desk handles everything around the medical part: reports review, cost estimate, visa invitation letter, airport pickup, accommodation, interpreter support and follow-up once you are home.

Procedures we perform

Plain explanations of what each procedure involves, so you understand what is being recommended and why.

Joint replacement

Total knee and hip replacement

When arthritis or injury wears down a joint to the point where medicines and physiotherapy no longer help, replacement surgery is often the answer. Patients looking for knee replacement surgery in India or hip replacement surgery in India can count on our orthopaedic surgeons to replace the damaged joint with a durable implant chosen to match age, activity level and bone quality. We perform both traditional and minimally invasive replacement techniques, helping patients return to walking, climbing stairs and daily activities with far less pain.

Spine surgery

Spinal fusion

Sometimes back or neck pain isn't just muscular but comes from unstable or damaged vertebrae pressing on nerves. Patients exploring spinal fusion surgery in India can rely on our spine surgeons to join two or more vertebrae together, stabilising the spine and relieving pressure on the nerves. We also offer minimally invasive spine surgery wherever possible, meaning smaller incisions, less blood loss and a quicker return home.

Curvature & alignment

Deformity correction

Bone and spine deformities, whether present from birth or developed over time, can affect posture, movement and self-confidence. Patients searching for spine deformity correction in India trust our team to carefully evaluate the curvature or misalignment and plan a surgical approach suited to age and severity, using scoliosis correction techniques where the spine is involved. The goal is always to restore function and appearance while protecting long-term mobility.

Failed or complex fractures

Trauma revision surgery

Not every fracture heals the way it should, and sometimes an earlier surgery needs to be redone due to implant failure, infection or non-union of the bone. Families searching for trauma revision surgery in India trust our team for careful assessment of what went wrong and a plan to correct it, often involving complex fracture reconstruction and close post-operative monitoring to give the bone its best chance at healing properly this time.

Advanced orthopaedic & spine facilities

Our orthopaedics and spine unit is built to support faster diagnosis, safer surgery and better recovery at every stage of treatment.

Imaging and diagnostic labs

Accurate assessment through X-ray, MRI and CT before any treatment decision is made.

Joint replacement theatres

Equipped with laminar airflow systems to reduce infection risk during implant surgeries.

Spine surgery units

Supported by intraoperative navigation and neuromonitoring for precision during complex procedures.

Trauma and emergency care

Available round the clock for fractures, accidents and revision surgeries.

Dedicated orthopaedic ICUs

Close, round-the-clock monitoring of patients before and after major surgery.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation

Helping patients regain strength, mobility and confidence after surgery.

Orthopaedic-trained nurses

Care teams experienced specifically in post-surgical joint and spine recovery.

Where you will be treated

After a joint replacement or spine surgery you will be walking short distances, slowly, for the first few weeks. Where you stay between physiotherapy sessions matters as much as where you are operated on, so our team arranges accommodation close by and accessible.

Consult our orthopaedic & spine specialists

Not sure whether your pain needs surgery, physiotherapy, or just time and the right exercises? That is exactly the kind of question our specialists are here to answer. From your city to walking again

Six steps. Most patients complete the first three without leaving home.

Send your reports

WhatsApp your X-rays, MRI or CT scans and any previous operation notes. Clear photos of the films and reports are fine.

Get a surgical opinion

The surgeon reviews your case and tells you whether surgery is needed now, whether physiotherapy would do, and which procedure fits.

Receive a written estimate

A cost estimate covering surgery, the implant, hospital stay, physiotherapy and consultations — in writing, before you commit.

Visa and travel

We issue a visa invitation letter for the patient and one attendant, and help with the medical visa application and flights.

Surgery and physiotherapy

Airport pickup, accessible accommodation, and physiotherapy starting the day after surgery, with a coordinator alongside you throughout.

Fit to fly, then home

The surgeon clears you for the flight, and you leave with a home exercise plan, implant card and video follow-up scheduled.

International patients we care for

Our international patient desk regularly coordinates joint replacement, spine and trauma cases for patients travelling from:

Nigeria Kenya Tanzania Uganda Ethiopia Ghana Zambia Zimbabwe DR Congo Sudan Botswana Namibia Mauritius

Support in English, French, Swahili, Arabic and Amharic can be arranged for consultations and during your stay.

What it will cost

Joint replacement and spine surgery cost in India depends on the procedure, the implant chosen, whether one or both joints are being done, how many days you stay, and how much physiotherapy you need. Quoting a number before seeing your scans would be guesswork, and guesswork is how families end up with a bill they did not plan for.

Send your reports and you will receive a written estimate covering surgery, the implant, hospital stay, physiotherapy and consultations — so you know the figure before you book a ticket.

Private patient room with attendant seating at Apollo Hospitals, Mumbai
Your room is arranged before you arrive Private rooms have seating and space for the attendant travelling with you, which matters in the first days after joint or spine surgery when moving around is slow. Physiotherapy comes to the room until you are walking to the department yourself.

Questions patients ask us first

Do I have to pay anything to get an opinion?

No. Review of your X-rays, MRI and reports, the surgeon's opinion and the cost estimate are free. You pay only once you decide to come for treatment.

Do I actually need surgery, or will physiotherapy be enough?

That is exactly what the reports review answers. Many joint and back problems respond well to physiotherapy, medication and time. The surgeon gives an honest opinion on whether surgery is needed now, later, or not at all — being told you don't need an operation is a perfectly good outcome.

How long will I need to stay in India?

Most joint replacement patients plan for around three to four weeks in total: a few days in hospital, then physiotherapy and review before the surgeon clears them to fly. Spine surgery is usually similar. Your surgeon confirms the timeline for your case before you travel.

When will I be able to walk after knee replacement?

Most patients stand and take their first supported steps with a physiotherapist within a day or two of surgery. Walking independently, climbing stairs and returning to normal daily activity comes gradually over the following weeks, with continued physiotherapy.

Can a family member travel with me?

Yes, and after joint or spine surgery it helps to have one. Our visa invitation letter covers the patient and one attendant, and most countries issue a medical attendant visa alongside the patient's medical visa.

My earlier fracture surgery failed. Can it be corrected?

Often yes. Send the original operation notes, the implant details if you have them, and current X-rays. The team assesses whether the problem is implant failure, infection or non-union of the bone, and plans the revision accordingly.

What about the language?

Consultations are in English. Interpreters for French, Swahili, Arabic and Amharic can be arranged for your admission, physiotherapy sessions and hospital stay — tell us in advance so we can book one.
